About Me

I am a married mother of two. I have a 14 year old daughter and 3 year old son. I am at the beginning of a new phase in my life. I am starting a new job as a youth leader., and a recent bypass patient. Let's get into the surgery first. I had Rny gastric bypass on September 12th of this year. I have lost about 60 pounds so far. It is an amazing thing to lose so much so fast. The youth job came about this summer. I was helping with a vaction bible school at a new church start called the connection and I was compelled to be there and help the kids. Other than that I babysit at home. I watch two boys one 2 year old and one 19 month old. Life here is messy, and so is my house. I spend most of my time wiping noses or butts. I hope to write an intersting blog, ,that people want to read. If not, oh well. My mom will love it.

Hello, I too took care of children more than 20 years ago in my family day care. I also taught in VBS, and was a Sunday School Superintendent.

I went out to work as a letter carrier because we were adopting our third child and needed three bedrooms. It is so expensive to live in New England.

In 2000, I was injured and though I am still working, I do not have the route that kept me moving. In fact, some days my supervisor would say we do not have enough vehicles and on limited duty I would just answer phones. Is this the reason I gained so much weight?

I cannot excuse myself indulgences. I just know that it became easier to go out to eat then go home after long days at work to cook.

In 2006, I was weighed in at my highest weight. I tried losing on my own, and told to call a number to meet with a nutrionist. I actually misplaced the number on purpose. Yet, I started losing weight. I did not lose dramatically until August 2007, when I tried alli pills, made lunches, and drank a protein drink in the morning. I ate a lot of fresh fruit, and spent lots of money on grapes.

I found that I was losing and people were noticing. I had already decided to go to a meeting to see what RNY surgery was all about with a friend who had the surgery in June 2007.

I went to many of the support meetings, and saw the excess skin that will need a tummy tuck in photos from a plastic surgeon.

My weight is down 92 pounds since 11 06.

My surgery was Jan 3rd 2008. I am losing weight slowly since the operation. I have hopes of losing one hundred pounds. Pray for me as I will pray for you and your family.
